Matthew Amha

Matthew Amha is a Toronto-based reporter, host, and producer with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. He has also worked as host and producer of the CBC podcast ‘The Africas vs America.’ More generally, his reporting and commentary have appeared at the international, national, and local levels in television, radio, and podcasts. His writing has also appeared in the pages of Canada’s national current affairs magazine, Maclean’s.

  • I am currently working in a number of capacities with CBC Radio and CBC Podcasts, including as a producer with the CBC’s daily news podcast Front Burner, and as a regular on-air culture critic with CBC Radio’s Pop Culture program ‘Commotion.’

  • ‘W6’ is the CBC’s flagship radio news program, and Canada’s only nightly national radio show

University work (‘14-‘18)

  • Founder and editor-in-chief of Yonge Magazine: an online interest magazine comprised of more than 20 young journalists from around Canada, focused on creating a space at the table for critical cultural engagement from young thinkers. 

  • Ryersonian newspaper: news editor for Ryerson’s official campus newspaper.

  • Eyeopener newspaper: reporter for Ryerson’s off-campus newspaper.
